Geezz, unless folks are keeping things hush hush, it's a little bit light on shows this weekend. Friday and Sunday have some solid ones. But Saturday has like two. Two.
Unless you're not inviting us to things anymore. That's not cool. We spent time together. Time. Guess we're no longer welcome around you OR your friends, eh? You didn't send us a break up text or nothing. Not even a "You no longer may come over and bone me" email.
Mean. That's what you are. If people only knew. Whatever, enjoy your new blog boyfriend. See if we care. We're still gonna BANDGEEEEK!:
FRIDAY
TOKYO GARDEN: This is it. The show we told you about. We're pretty sure Fresno punk band It'll Grow Back recorded their new record just so they could play this show. It's a good one. It also has The Quiet Americans, Dale & Jocey and H & S will be doing a pop up thingamaboop:
FULTON 55: Another one you got an early heads-up on is this Binational Rock Concert. Fresno bands Distrito Torre and The Burners merging with Mexico City's Torreblanca to make one culturally rich night of good music. And it's FREE! Details:
AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: Dude, Mclane High knows how to churn out metal bands. Alumni includes Handlebarz, Waffle, Crucial Point and Blackbird. Wonder if they will be letting Bullard Alumni in...
BABYLON: The 'Pros & Cons Tour' stops in the Tower tonight with The Great Americon - a all-star band of sorts with members of Ministry and Revolting Cocks. Plus Valor & Vengeance, Gemini Syndrome and locals like Hands That Kill and Gristle. Details:
SATURDAY
THE BEL-TOWER: Come. Enjoy. Be good and hide your 40s. Listen to many bands. Like I Destroyed The Empire and Desecrator:
AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: Early on, like starting around 5, My Brothers Band will be doing its annual birthday show for folks that want to come party. After that... not sure. It's Audie's, fuck it, drink and play the juke box you can't lose.
SUNDAY
TOWER THEATRE: Them folks at Diehardz Music have been bringing shows to Fresno and creating shows for locals, for a while now. This one may be their biggest yet as they welcome The Wailers. Local backing coming from Patrick Contreras, Merlinda Espinosa, The Dirty Sanchez (last show!) and More Than Without.
FULTON 55: Sometimes you'll see show like this at Audie's or Fulton pop in on a Sunday. Good shows with touring bands that are up-and-coming, but sadly it's on a Sunday and they kinda get missed. Sucks but true. At least there's a good option for the hardcore music fan that doesn't mind a Sunday:
Phoenix alt/indie rock band The Technicolors with North Carolina folk band Jessica Long & The New Kind. Details. [8:30, $6, 21+]
Okay, that's what we found. If you know of a local band playing (or weekend event) that's not on here or you want to update, pimp or just muse about what IS on here, please use the comment section of this post to its fullest!
