So the burger joint Foster's Freeze... for some reason we were thinking about lately. Thinking things like, how long it's been around, where did it start and how many hours did I shave off my life by getting this cone dipped?
Here are some possible interesting things we found out:
- Foster's Freeze was not started in the Valley. Dude, totally thought Foster's was started here, this fact threw us. The first Foster Freeze started in Inglewood [1946], but, the first franchise location was the Tulare location [1955]. The Tulare location boasts of Steve Perry, Flip Wilson and Robert Conrad sightings.
- Foster's has the best fries anywhere. Yes, better than McDonald's... NO, it's been decided.
- The Atwater location is where the scene from Pulp Fiction when Bruce Willis' character runs over Ving Rhames character, was filmed. Doesn't seem right to us, we've been to that location a few times and it just.... Damn you Wikipedia! We never know how much we can trust you.
- The Foster Freeze mascot is just an ice-cream cone and not, in fact, the Devil.
Alright, that Pulp Fiction thing is bugging us, it can't be right can it? Ohhhh, that's because it isn't. They mean some LA neighborhood called Atwater Village, not our Central Valley town of Atwater. Ahhh you silly Wikipedia.
