Joe Moore, DJ and Station Manager at KFSR, will be leaving that posistion at 90.7 and joining Valley Public Radio as their Director of Program Content. But before he does that, he'll have one last DJ shift for KFSR from 9 to Noon playing the jazz he knows and loves. If you don't like the old-time-y radio, you can listen online or with the Public Radio iPhone app.
There is no truth to the rumor (we just started) that Joe is going to KRZR to turn the Wild Bunny into all jazz all the time with an 80's rock edge, format.

That was seriously embarrassing Saturday night, Fresno. No, not the game, the game kicked ass (well except for the first quarter). But did we really do The Wave during an undecided Fresno State football game? Even while we were on offense? Really? *sigh*
Sure, the sixth inning of a Grizzlies game, go for it. Wave away - it's not like Fresno will ever beat Sacramento anyway. But don't do a wave during a tight college football game. Just don't. We look really hokey (and on national television, no less). Siting next to the Cincinnati fans section, you could see the "are they really doing this right now?" expressions everywhere.
The Wave was awesome at an Oakland A's game with Crazy George back in the 80's. Not at a major college football game in 2010. Next time, say no to The Wave, Fresno.

Tailgating is "any gathering of people outside of a venue in conjunction with an event." Hey, we like to gather. We like events. Sounds freaking awesome! If only there was some kind of event happening this weekend we could gather at.... hmmm. Holy hell! There's some kinda football thing? Good enough!
Fresno State battles Cincinnati to open the season of college footballness. The Bulldogs are favored by 2 1-2. Should be a nice battle. But almost more important: there will be tailgating. What Arthop and Rogue Festival is to Fresno's creatives, tailgating for Bulldog games is to Fresno's sports folks (or something like that).
In fact, a Fresnans place in this town can be defined by their tailgate lot.
WHITE LOT: This is where the "Grey Wave" likes to hang out. Were the Bulldog Tailgate Hall Of Famers rest. This is were Fresno's money players go.
RED/BLUE LOT: These folks have some money too, only it's a little more "new". You'll see more business trying to look important and more people trying to sneak into tents. You might even see a radio personality or two.
PURPLE LOT: This is the AAAs for Bulldog tailgaters. You've got a little bit of money, you're a true fan, but you can't get into the big boys club. Good hang out there though (plus you've got solid bathrooms at the North Gym).
ORANGE LOT: Not even sure where you're at. You enter on Barton off Shaw so we guess you're out by SMC. Boonies. But hey, you can drink "legally" out there so have at it and you get that nice walk through campus before gametime.
BROWN LOT: Where the RV people like to hang out. It's key to get in good with one of these so maybe they'll let you use their toilet. Brown lot (heh hehe heh).

Just in case you went to the movies tonight or a long Target run, you might have missed Fresno State joining the Mountain West Conference. Yeah, there was like a press conference and everything. Done deal.
Yes, it's great for football and all - as long as no more than BYU leaves (sadly, all that matters to anyone is how it affects football). But leaving the WAC, basically like Boise did? Feels dirty. And now we look like douchebags. We look like fucking douchebags.
When Boise said they were leaving, we were all like "Fine. Go. See if I care. The Mountain West is full of jerks anyway - you'll be more at home... jerks." "We love the WAC. The WAC is the coolest. Total underdog conference, the WAC. Everybody loves the underdogs. We enjoy our Kibby Dome trips. Have fun in your stupid mountains."
Now Fresno is all "Heyyy, wowww, the Mountain is like the bestest. Right? Woo hoo, the Mountain rules! Enjoy those Moscow, Idaho trips *snicker*, San Jose."
So yeah, Fresno. Be happy. We'll have a nice football schedule. But just so everyone knows, we're being total dicks.

Wow. The hype for now former Fresno State guard, Paul George, has been building so much this week (Paul was the featured story on Yahoo Sports, Tuesday), if the NBA Draft was still a week instead of Thursday night, George might go number one. But really, Paul is just hoping he can go higher than Ryan Mathews did so he can get an extra five grand.
We, along with the rest of Fresno, wish Paul the best. But, not being basketball experts, we're confused: If he has so much NBA game, why couldn't he at least get a pretty talented Bulldog team to the NIT? A winning record? (15-18) A winning record in the WAC? (7-9)
Dude, just sayin'.

The Fresno State men's basketball team. First the guys lose in the most embarrassing of ways (on ESPNU) to that little punk neighborhood kid, San Jose State. Then they start the Utah State game down 22-0. Seriously. That's insane. And of course they lost that one big.
We like Coach Cleveland and all he's done to pull the program away from the brink NCAA death. And, feel he deserves another year. But right now... this shit is done fucked up.
At least Paul George should be realizing by now he has no shot at the NBA unless he gets another college season under his belt. When you get shut out by the Spartans, you're not ready to go pro.
All the Bulldog men players need to sit a watch the women practice, maybe learn a thing or two.

Yeah, Fresno State needed an on campus arena so it's a good thing they don't play at Selland Arena anymore (even though Save Mart Center sucks ass). But, we can still miss watching the Dogs play at Selland. And we can really miss Boyd Grant teams.
And really really miss Mitch Arnold's afro, especially when it gets in a fight! Remember this one?:
