Fresno's HateFX has a new celebrity guitarist of sorts in Glen Alvelais - formally of Forbidden and Testament. We saw him with HateFX at last Saturday's Dirty Dowdy Podcast party and recorded some bootlegs. Here is a new song we got with Glen doing some fine shredding on and features a "Eye Of The Tiger" beginning.

One hell of a show last Friday night at Audie's Olympic. It felt like everyone in town was up in there. Main thing though, there was a ton of great Fresno music. Like Pinkeye. It made for a nice opportunity to record a live bootleg, seeing as Pinkeye only plays once a year, if we're lucky.

Fresno indie-surfy rock band, Sunburns, were at C.A.F.E. Infoshop last Friday. You weren't. Okay you were, Blake, BUT THAT'S IT. Sunburns are working on a album and we're looking forward to it. In the meantime we bootlegged a Sunburns song to keep us occupied.

Fresno band, Westerns, play the straightest rock (with a bluesy edge) this side of the Sierra's. They are currently working a their first album and tuning up with some shows here in there. Last week we caught them at Starline and made a little live bootleg for ya.

Fresno's Sparklejet. Well respected by Fresno's music community and long having the reputation of being (maybe) the loudest band in Fresno ever. They played last week at Audie's Olympic and while they weren't at their loudest, they were still damn good.
We got a live song we bootlegged from said show we'd like to share with you. The only problem is, not real sure of the name. Maybe you hardcore Sparklejet fanboys can help a blogger out in the comments and let us know what we're listening too.

Finally got some more local bootlegs done. This one comes from the past weekend show at Fulton 55 and it's of Fresno ska outfit: King Sugar. A lot of Fresnans caught these guys for the first time Saturday, as was the case for us and everyone enjoyed these guys [and gal]. Gotta feeling we'll be hearing a lot more from them this year.
But we can hear a recorded-in-crowd version, right now. The song is called ... well, not sure. "Goodbye" maybe? It's a live song from King Sugar, just try and enjoy it, dammit.

Here is the setup, we record a song from a Fresno band playing live someplace. We don't ask for permission, we just do it (like somebody would care anyway). It may not sound perfect but what bootlegs do?

It's been too long for our favorite feature: Bootlegged In Fresno. We secretly record a band playing locally and post it for Fresno music fans to hear. Sometimes it sounds bad, sometimes you hear conversations and sometimes you just hear some good live Fresno music.

The Sleepover Disaster may have lost an early battle with Rademacher, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve to be bootlegged. This raw, live recording we took, is from a recent show at Audie's Olympic and it not only features the song "Codebreaker" (I think that's the song's name), it has some nice banter with Brian Kenny Fresno, chiming in from the bar.
