You are about to witness the weakest Friday in the history of Bandgeek. It happens. Holiday week, yo... OH but mad respect for the stuff happening on Friday. Mad respect.
So let's BANDGeee... ya, can't get fired up enough to yell this week. Let's bandgeek.
FRIDAY
AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: Some of the best DJs in town at one of the best places to party in. Go ahead and try not to have fun. Really. Try it:
MEZCAL LOUNGE: Presented by Distorsion Magazine and featuring DLD, Lezayr and Ambar:
FULTON 55: Local Santana tribute band, Heavy Weather, starts at 9 (tickets $8). Before that there is the Jeff & Ben Happy Hour that starts at 5 and goes to 8 (free).
KUPPAJOES: No show this weekend.
A HOUSE: Seriously you may have to go to A HOUSE SHOW IN DINUBA to have some fun. Dinuba. Some dude's house. Actually it sounds kinda kickass:
SATURDAY
AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: San Jose rockabilly outfit, Ghost Town Hangmen plus a rare band with a Sonora connection: Country Trash. There will be other stuff, surely:
THE BEL-TOWER: We are told that Calvin Johnson is a member of The Halo Benders, Dub Narcotic Sound System, Beat Happening and is founder of K Records from Olympia, WA. Seems important. Research and go. I Do Not Exist, Sci Fi Caper and Joey Casio from Olympia will be there too, so that's cool. Not sure you can do much better than this flier:
STARLINE: Thunderstriking is Atascadero AC/DC tribute band, High Voltage. [9pm $8 21+]
BABYLON: Being billed as the "When Art Meets Hip Hop And Rock Festival" (you know, WAMHHARF). It does seem to be doing what it says:
MADERA COUNTY: Yep. Out there in a vineyard or something (18200 Rd. 23):
SUNDAY
C.A.F.E. INFOSHOP: Why there aren't more shows on a Sunday night before a holiday, we do not know. At least there's this. Nucular Aminals and Psychic Feline from Portland. Plus some local flavoring from Illgrum and I Do Not Exist.
Okay, that's what we found (really, that's it). If you know of a local band playing that's not on here or you just want to talk about what IS on here, please use the comment section to pimp away!
