STARLINE: "The Takeover", it's a huge night of hip-hop acts like locals Bruno Da Uno. Details.

STORYLAND: Is it fully kickass to have Storyland among this weeks music venues? Yes. We explained this show earlier this week . It's a show for members of Creative Fresno; only members of the Fresnotastic Creative Fresno get in. If you're not, just show up with $20 cash money and you can be a member too. Three great bands: Strange Vine, The Stone Foxes and Agent Ribbons. And yes, there is a cash bar, boozer. Kickass flier:

This is very much the kickass (even if it makes our bootleg feature sound silly). Local music loving guy, Brian Gard, made a off-the-board recording of the Fay Wrays most recent performance at Audie's Olympic. It sounds really good, even better than it did from the audience.

At The Bel-Tower tonight is Wild Assumptions (female-fronted pop punk from the Bay), N.F.F.U. (Idaho punk), Holy! Holy! Holy! (Anarchist gypsy punk from Portland) plus locals Victimless Crime, Switchblade 327 and Tyrannosaurus Zebra.

Welcome Back, Ladies!: NoTown's First Home Bout of the Season is Saturday

If you're not in a meeting, here is the most dominate Fresno thing to be doing before you party at Storyland:

It's a valley affair with two Notown teams vs two Bako teams. You can buy tickets from your favorite NoTown skater, Twee Boutique, SBI Boardshop and Hero's (the Downtown restaurant, not the most awesome comic shop in California). Event page here. Remember to drink local.

INCOMING!: Creative Fresno's 'Members Only' Party @ Storyland This Saturday

This is what Creative Fresno does in town. Basically, CF helps make Fresno a cooler place to live.

Saturday's Members Only Party happening at Storyland, is a good illustration of that: Three killer bands, lots of prize giveaways, drinks (bring cash), all while you're surrounded by the coolness of Storyland and supporters of Fresno.

Sounds like a perfect night.

Three bands are playing the party. Strange Vine is one. It could be said they're Fresno's best band at the moment (Fierce Creatures fans might disagree). They just got done playing a ton of shows at SXSW and a show in Mesa where they shared a stage with the Black Keys. This is Strange Vine:

Also playing, The Stone Foxes. They're three Fresno natives that now live in "the city". So happens they're the ones that got Strange Vine on the Black Keys bill. They're good too:

Thirdly, something a little different with Austin band Agent Ribbons. They came through Fresno last August and made a good impression on most that went. So why not bring them back? In fact, the band built a full tour around this Fresno gig. The ladies of Agent Ribbons:

Focused On Fresno: Liberty Theater Tour Edition

Hey. What's up? Managed to weasel into the Liberty Theatre (also known as Hardy's) on Van Ness over the weekend as the Fresno Grand Opry show crew did some scout work for the upcoming KFSR benefit. Very happy about it as the inside has not been seen by most Fresnans.

The Liberty was built in 1917 and is Fresno's oldest theater. Mr. William Saroyan used to hang out there, so that makes it automatically awesome.

Keep in mind: We only had a iPhone without a flash, so the pics aren't good and fewer because of this... but they're something. Also, unable to do proper prep for this as it was a spur-of-the-moment sneak in.

FULTON 55: This is an intriguing show, gotta give it up to the Beehive on this one. They are helping Sound N Vision bring British pop-rock band, Brother, to Fresno. It's intriguing because it's the first show the Sound N Vision Foundation has brought to Fresno. They've been bringing big-time rising indie talent to Visalia for years. Shows that don't stop in Fresno. Since Love The Captive is on hiatus, it would be a big help to Fresno's indie rock fans if SNV starts bringing more shows to town.

And yeah, Fierce Creatures is on the bill too! Plus our favorite local video dudes, DI60, will be there ... video-ing. So go - even if there will be Beehive-rs roaming around *fist shake*. [$7 8:30 21+]

KUPPAJOES: Rising melodic-hardcore band from Portland, Fallstar, makes a stop in Fresno - they are featured in AMP Magazine this month. If that's not enough for ya, how about locals Sounds & Sciences and Tiger Lily, along with Stockton's Still Fighting. Details:

AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: Roots, blues and folk rock will all be represented tonight with Santa Cruz's Tater Famine and Fresno favorite, Lance Canales & The Flood. Plus the Kountry Kittens Burlesque girls. Plus, a change up for Happy Hour with Mike Smith & The Handsome Devils (that starts at 6). Details:

You may know that Tioga Sequoia is brewing downtown now. Tonight they are pouring some new stuff called Mt. Whitney Pale Ale at Eureka Burger. Taste some new local brew and get a glass in the process. Go.

Tonight In The Tower: Blackness @ Bel-Tower and Starline Going All-Ages (For The Night, Anyway)
