Things managed just fine, even with the booze hiccup, at Fulton 55's grand opening weekend. Both nights were packed regardless. Must have been the never-before-seen-in-Fresno angles that got people out:
Sound was great. Vibe was nice. Atmosphere good. Parking was easy. If you have to find something wrong (it's part of the blogger code to find something wrong), when you're upstairs and not near the rail, you pretty much can't see the stage - even then it can be obstructed. But a cool-as-hell upstairs with obstructed views is way better than no upstairs.
Speaking of upstairs, that is where we got this video of the hard rocking Patrick Contreras:
The second night, Fresnans discovered that King Sugar is pretty damn good...
...and felt nostalgic skankness with Fresno legends Let's Go Bowling:
Another positive from this weekend. After Friday's Patrick Contreras show let out, we went down to Audie's Olympic for the Strange Vine show and ... it was packed. There was even some synergy going on as we spotted many folks that had just come from the Fulton 55 show. Good to know that Fresno can support both venues at once.
Fulton 55 is the place Fresno has been waiting for ... forever. Now that its here, it makes you wonder what took so long. Fresno. You deserve this venue.
