The Catacomb Party. It truly was a night to remember. Dead In 60 Years put together this stellar video that captures the night rather well. Enjoy this like it's the last video you'll ever see because we'll all be Dead In 60 Years:
Last Thursday Light Thieves played a impromtu post Art Hop/post Achievement House show at Broadway Studios. We'd like to thank the Light Thieves for making Fresno's Downtown a cool place to be hanging out:
Fresno's video scene has changed a bit over the years. Back in the day good local video was so thin we actually felt compelled to post real estate vids' of Fresno homes and our own terrible video of shows that were actually shot sideways ... with no audio.
There wasn't a ton a quality stuff to post so we'd just put up whatever.
Luckily now there are stellar sites like Gotta Love Fresno, Swede Fest and the kinda new Internet show Kim & Greg. Their latest effort, "Kim's Hairy Situation", is quite entertaining. Our beard got hella turned on while watching this:
We can't stop liking these Sounds & Sciences guys. We know it's not a widely recognized genre of music with the above 20 crowd but we think Sounds is as legit locally as Strange Vine, 40 Watt Hype, Rademacher, Fierce Creatures and so on... well, at least they will be someday.
Thanks to some person's Facebook post (guess Facebook is good for something every once in a while), we found a cool video about the famous Rolling Stones concert at Ratcliffe Stadium. NOOOO we weren't old enough to be there, just heard about it and junk.
This video has apparently been around a year now, but we just saw it pop up on some dude's Facebook page and wanted to share. Nice little film with great Fresno shots and some good background on this guy, Terrance Reimer. Like us, you've probably seen him around the scene and may have wondered why he always has this little camera with him.
Wait for the 3 minute mark and you can listen to this dude, William from Black Shamrock Media, talk about a run-in him and Fresno band, Motel Drive, had at the same border patrol stop that Snoop Dogg was arrested at. After that, Motel Drive themselves, expand on the story:
The Fresnan is a blog drunk on Fresno's sweet sweet booze.
We like posting about local music and random Fresno culture junk. We like Downtown, tri-tip, South of Shaw battles, tamales and remembering when there was a fig orchard at Herndon & Palm. We like to occasionally go to River Park but tell people we never go there.
