More Downtown Lounging? I'm in

WELCM_EXTR_01_E We here at The Fresnan are very happy to see this Van Ness Ave/Fulton Mall hotel, reopen. Even more stoked knowing The Sky Room (lounge), at the top of the new Holiday Inn, will be open soon.

Anything that brings more people downtown and on the Fulton Mall is good in this blog's Fresno book.

Monday Hangover: Not enough Sudz in the City

Barely used stage setup Didn't they used to give you like twenty drink tickets for twenty bucks?  It wasn't that long ago was it?  When it was held near the Water Tower, I think.  Those were the days.  Saturday, it was thirty dollars (day of) for eight little glasses of beer.  To me, what was worse: no bands of note played - sorry every blues based band in town that performed.

I suppose the thirty bones is fine if you wanted to donate to the Downtown Association anyway.  That's where the proceeds went.

The Fresno Bee's Paula Lloyd gave a great statistical rundown of Saturday's Suds in the City event - there were 4000 drinkers at The Chuck.  By the way, the Bee is damn lucky to have Paula.  I really love the stuff she writes and hope they keep upping her profile.

An Earlyass Fresgeek

Since we were lame and didn't post a Fresgeek Weekend this time, we'll preview next week:

Beer.  Food.  Downtown.  Beer.  Cleavage.  Music.  Beer.  Riot Police.

A Fresno favorite for shitfaced assholes, Sudz in the City, is Saturday May 24th at The Chuck.  Every drunk idiot in town will be in attendance...we'll see ya there.

Fresnan Famous

This past Sunday, FresnoFamous.com was gracious enough to kick out some Grizzlies tixs to TheFresnan.com.  We gave Famous nothing in return.  Well, we do help with this thing.

Check some video of Sunday's Chucker experience:

And peep some pics after the break...

Evelyn Glennie world renown solo percussionist at Saroyan.
Smog City Roller Girls at Valdez Hall.

Fresgeek Friday: Hot Dudes at the Fulton Mall!

l_ad5d1629b12a2a049894694cf932c42d

Tonight.  The Fulton Mall.  Hot guys playing music.  Actually, I dunno if they're hot, that's what I'm told.

Victory Jump will be playing at Milano's inside the outside Fulton Mall.  So get down there at eight and see if this hot rumor is true.

The Dope: Hot. News. Chicks.

Images_2A reader of The Fresnan shared a elevator with Nicole Garcia from KMPH, and just a half hour before saw Malcolm Sosa from Rademacher at Cafe Corazon.  It pays to hang downtown sometimes.

The reader felt Nicole "...looks better in person than on TV."  It seems that most our newscasters are hotter in person.  I've seen Graciela (yeah, she's at one-name status) and Jennifer Brice around and they are even hotter in person.

If ya got some dope for us, give it up dammit: thedope@thefresnan.com
