We like fliers. They give info so we don't have to search it out and type it into a blog post. Plus they're sometimes pretty to look at and they give some weight to a show. Just a little pro tip to all you venue owners and promoters. Yeah, I know you're thinking "But I already know this, you asshole blogger!" Do you?...Do you?
Props to those with fliers this week. This is...BANDGEEEEEK!:
AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: No joke, San Diego singer Gayle Skidmore claims she has written over 1700 songs since she began songwriting at the age of 8. Mmmmka, 1700 eh? SHENANIGANS! Well tonight we can call "bullshit" to her face as she plays with Kevin Rees and Porch Yellers. [$6, 9pm, 21+]
FULTON 55: The return return... return of Cash'd Out. Their live shows "respectfully reference the late, great Man in Black's early Columbia era and Sun Records sound, combined with the energy of the classic multi-platinum live recordings from Folsom Prison and San Quentin." [$18, 9pm, 21+]
KUPPAJOE'S: They're off this week - finals and such.
DOWNTOWN/ROEDING PARK/TOWER: If you're running in the California Classic half-marathon early this Sunday morning, keep your head on a swivel for some local musicians like: The Dirty Stomp, Distrito Torre, Your Hero Is A Villain, The White Glove Service, Restaurnaut, The Dirty Dirties and much more. They will be playing along the race route to keep you pumped. Here is a map of the race course (note the guitar icons, it's where you might catch a band playing).
Well that's what we managed to find, but we admit we don't know everything. If you know of a band playing, a weekend event that's not on here, or you want to talk about what IS on here, please use the comment section of this post to its fullest!
