Friday night at Fulton 55 local podcaster, Dirty Dowdy, is starting a new Fresno holiday tradition with the "Festivus Festival". Lots of Festivus inspired events (like Feats Of Strength) will be happening plus plenty of local comedians, some porn stars hanging out, live podcasting and good local music from Session, From The Fallen and Dislodic.
Fans of Seinfeld don't need Festivus explained to them, but in case you do:

Maybe you saw these two with Forgetters earlier this year: Street Eaters (Berkeley) - Punk folk duo whom are also members of The Fleshies and Wild Assumptions. Plus, Landlord (Bloomington, Indiana) which has members of Defiance, Ohio and The Doorkeys.

FULTON 55: Two of Fresno's finest music talents come together for one show: Patrick Contreras and Distrito Torre. The proceeds go to help Breaking Free Food Distribution. Time for another Bartender Challenge from Creative Fresno. You take two (in this case four) Fresnans from whatever and have them bartend against each other for a shift, to see who can earn the most tips. Bartender with the most tips get to brag they were able to raise the most amount of money for Creative Fresno's Mural Project.
Always a cool event and this one has some extra interest as it pits two North Of Shaw Fresnans (Amy Huerta and Austin Ewell) against two South Of Shaw-ers (Eliot Balch and Richard Caglia). We think maybe we can figure out which side has more money, but which side has more givers? Find out at BB's tonight.

Fulton 55 hosts Las Vegas groove metal band: Hemlock. These guys have done things like open for Korn and play on the Rockstar Mayhem Tour. This one is for folks that like Hatebreed, Slayer and what not. Ya don't see many metal shows at Fulton 55, wonder if this will start a trend... [$10, 9:00, 21+]
