Sometimes holiday weekends can kinda suck for music. Like, you know, not a lot of shows and stuff. Not this time. Plenty of shows. Good ones. Happening. So let's get into it ... let's BANDGEEEEEEEK!:
FRIDAY
AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: Hey, nice to see local promoters, Love The Captive, putting their toes back in the water. Style Like Revelators and more:
C.A.F.E. INFOSHOP: Quite the big show for Infoshop: Cabin Fire, Gold // Tongue, Mane Horse, Blackwater, The Milford Higgins and Skomm:
FULTON 55: U2 tribute dudes: The Joshua Tree:
STARLINE: Rock and reggae band, The White Glove Service, headline a night of local talent:
BROADWAY KLUB: Check the Friday section of the flier below. Cover is $5, Starts at 7:00, All ages:
NVS NIGHTCLUB: Fresno's From The Fallen head-up the club's rock night, hosted by New Rock 104.1. [$10, 9:00, 21+]
KUPPAJOES: Off this weekend.
THE BEL-TOWER: Off this weekend.
SATURDAY
FULTON 55: For you Fresno youngsters out there, we can't stress enough how epic this show is. The Neanderthals were the shit in the late 80s/ early 90s around Fresno. Like ... really we can't think of a proper current local band to compare them too ... they were the shit. Time to relive the shit or experience the shit for the first time:
AUDIE'S OLYMPIC: Rock still pulls in Fresno, and we are all lucky for it.
TOWER THEATRE: Don't blame Mofo Party Band for what the Tower Theatre people did this past week. Theys gots nothin to do with it. They're just looking to party and record a live CD is all:
STARLINE: A night of industrial metal with Hanzel Und Gretyl:
THE CYC: Metalllll!, Skyper Shay headlines Fearfest 2011 ... at least that's what we heard ... there is little indication from anywhere that this show is actually happening, but maybe. How's that for great info?
BABYLON: Rock inspired Halloween party with Homebrew, Dag Nabbit, Born Betty and more. [$10 $5 with costume, 7:30, 21+]
Well that's what we found. If you know of a local band playing (or weekend event) that's not on here or you want to update, pimp or just muse about what IS on here, please use the comment section of this post to its fullest!
