Nothin like a good bloggy battle to hype up Fresno events. It all started with this post about the Global Pecha Kucha event at Starline happening at the same time as the 2nd Lookee Loo film festival at Revue. Some nerds say go to Lookee Loo, others say Pecha Kucha. The battle then migrated over to the Beehive, then to Dumb Drum, then back to the Beehive. As a bonus, there were some pretty entertaining tweets.
Really it was all in fun and just a creative way to create some buzz. All Fresno happenings should have battle videos like this:
Well, we guess the nerd-hype worked because both events were well attended. Starline wasn't packed as it usually is for Pecha but that was due to other factors like the higher door donation (for Haiti) and because it had to be held on Saturday at 4:10 to coincide with Global Pecha Kucha Night for Hiati Day.Having Pecha on a late Saturday afternoon created an odd vibe. Not bad, really, just different. Things will likely get back to normal for Fresno's Pecha Kucha on Monday March 8th when it does a nod to the Rogue Festival with "fringe" as the theme.
As for Lookee Loo, the Dumb Drum boys have their submission up now if ya wanna check it.
