You've had to have heard about her blog (and the companion Facebook page and Heck Yes blog) by now. Kim Burly Schuller's 31 Days Of Fresno experiment? The one that got her interviewed by Famous Whitewater, Mike Oz, Central Valley Buzz, KSEE 24 and probably more.
Plus, on Tuesday morning, she did something that no Fresno blogger had ever done: Talk about their blog on KMJ radio. Kim was on Ray Appleton's morning program and this is how it sounded: Kim On KMJ.
We know she is the first blogger to break the KMJ seal because we asked around. Yes, we did something we rarely do: journalism-y junk. The question was put out to Fresno's Twittersphere (where many local bloggers lie in nerdy wait) and nobody could say they were ever on KMJ for their blogging. Most every other local station, but not KMJ.
Not the Blogfather Mike Oz. Not hot young stars James and Kiel. Famous Whitewater has not been on KMJ's airwaves. Even the Mother of Fresno Blogging, Jarah Euston, hadn't "not that I can recall..." was her exact quote.
So nice job there, Appleton and KMJ; it took you chumps almost five years to realize that maybe it's worth while to talk to a local blogger from time to time. Congrats to Kim for waking up the last Fresno media outlet not to recognize local bloggers.
