Tim Gardea Screws Fresno again

Some time ago, I posted about a poorly run show at the Rainbow Ballroom by Tim Gardea Presents. 

Well, that was nothing compared to this.  As reported by the Bee's Mike Oz, the Wednesday night Scary Kids Scaring Kids show at The Exit turned ugly.

The show was oversold and it prompted a visit from the Fresno Fire Marshall.

(SIDE NOTE:  What if instead of an all ages music venue, it was some nice North Fresno restaurant that was overcrowded and violating fire codes?  I'm thinking it wouldn't have gotten a Fire Marshall visit.  But I digress...)

When I heard that the SKSK show was oversold (not knowing who the promoter was), the first promoter that popped into my head was Tim Gardea Presents.  Not shocked to find out it was their show.  Lets hope that TGP somehow makes up for their lame Fresno promoting. 

How about they make up for it by staying in Bakersfield and never promoting in Fresno again.

you are so funny...how about a little thing called fact checking..Did you talk to the fire department regarding this?
Do you know what the capacity is.. Next time try to be more responsable before spoting off about some thing you no nothing about...Have the commen sense to contact all the parties invvolved and get the true story backed with facts ..not what you think is the deal..

While I agree that the incident at The Exit was unfortunate and that a lot of people could have their job better to make sure things didn't happen the way they did, I don't think the answer is for Tim to never promote in Fresno again.

Obviously, the scene here is better when we have people bringing in touring shows. Tim has brought some good ones. I'd hate for that to stop.

The info comes from the owners of The Exit and the band themselves so I don't know how to check better than that.

So Tim, are you saying that you were not responsible for overselling the show? Was it your fault, the bands, or The Exit's?

Has Tim ever screwed anyone out of a refund due to a concert cancellation? Try the CULT in Bakersfield this last December. We have yet to receive our $70 refund. What kind of promoter is this?? Tim, if you're reading this, I advise you to refund our money or it won't just be "Tim Gardea screws Fresno." Word travels fast in Bakersfield. I would hate to see your reputation jeopordized in anyway.

Tim Gardea is the biggest name in entertainment in Bakersfield, and has been for well over a decade, bringing countless shows and huge names to Bakersfield and other cities, good luck with spoiling his name, i was involved with the cult and in no way was that his fault, and it is a long process getting everything fixed.

Tim is an idiot, hands down.
Yes he did bring bakersfield good shows, but so can rabobank, and they might spring for the extra cash and actually put the shows on bigger stages, or pay the venues and employees working the show.

Fact is, Tim sucks with with money.

No matter how much everyone argues, the fact of the matter is Fresno has a flaky scene, money hungry promoters who are not even from here (we do have good promoters, I'm not saying they are all bad) and people who are not committed. I could bitch for days and nothing would change. Kids never come to the beginning of shows to support the locals. Everyone tries to sneak in. Tim Gardea is just an extreme example of how bad the promoters are. Of course something like this would happen. But when something like this does happen you don't run (as Gardea did...I heard). I personally will not go to a Gardea show because I do not support money hungry promoters. But like I said this won't change a thing.
